Bank of Maharashtra, a leading Public Sector Bank with Head Office in Pune and more than 2700 branches nationwide, invites online applications for engagement of 600 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 across 29 States/UTs for the year 2025-26.

Stipend & Benefits

Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300/-

Apprentices will receive a stipend of ₹12,300/- per month for the entire one-year engagement period. No other allowances or benefits are payable.

Training Duration & Hours

  • Training Period: One (1) year
  • Training Hours: 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM daily
  • Training will be imparted as per Bank’s requirement under Apprentices Act, 1961
  • Certificate of Proficiency issued by National Council on successful completion

Other Benefits

  • Free medical treatment for personal injury caused by accident during training
  • Quality training including basic and on-job practical training
  • Experiential learning in banking operations
  • Certificate of completion from National Council after passing proficiency test

Note: No daily allowance, conveyance allowance, travelling allowance, transport facility, hostel or residential accommodation will be provided. This is NOT a regular employment and does not guarantee job in the bank.

Educational Qualification

Apprentice Post

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from recognized University/Institute approved by Govt. of India or its regulatory bodies
  • The apprentice should be proficient in local language (Reading, Writing and Speaking) of the State/UT
  • Must produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing one of the languages as local language
  • List of acceptable local languages for each State/UT provided in the official notification annexure

Important Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidate should NOT have undergone apprenticeship in any other organization or terminated their apprenticeship midway
  • Candidates with training or job experience of one or more years after completing educational qualifications NOT eligible
  • No obligation on Bank to offer employment after training completion
  • Apprentice has no right to claim employment after training
  • Selected candidates cannot withdraw from training except for reasons beyond their control
  • Must execute Contract of Apprenticeship before commencement of training
  • Those who absent themselves liable to refund entire cost of training and stipend received
  • Valid Aadhaar Card mandatory for registration

PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Provisions

Horizontal reservation of 4% provided to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per Section 34 of “Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”. Total 13 posts reserved across categories.

Orthopedically Challenged (OH) – 4 Posts

Locomotor disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Muscular Dystrophy, Acid Attack Victims.

Visual Impairment (VI) – 3 Posts

Blindness (total absence of sight or visual acuity less than 3/60) or Low Vision (visual acuity not exceeding 6/18).

Hearing Impaired (HI) – 3 Posts

Deaf (70 DB hearing loss) or Hard of Hearing (60-70 DB hearing loss) in speech frequencies in both ears.

Intellectual Disability (ID) – 3 Posts

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI), Multiple Disabilities.

PwBD Certificate Requirements

  • Disability Certificate as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016
  • Not less than 40% of specified disability (benchmark disability)
  • Issued by Medical Board at District Level (CMO and Sub-Divisional MO)
  • Subject to verification/re-verification as decided by competent authority

Selection Process (Merit-Based)

Selection is purely merit-based on marks obtained in 12th (HSC/10+2) / Diploma examination. No written test or interview.

1. Merit List Preparation

  • State-wise merit list in descending order
  • Based on marks/percentage in 12th (HSC/10+2) or Diploma
  • For Engineering degree holders after Diploma: Diploma marks considered

2. Tie-Breaking Rules

  • If same percentage, candidates ranked by age in descending order (older candidate ranked higher)

3. Document Verification & Medical

  • Selected candidates called for document verification
  • Medical fitness certificate required
  • Antecedent verification mandatory

Important Selection Notes

  • Computerized merit list prepared only on basis of information filled in online application
  • Any discrepancy at document verification will result in disqualification
  • Bank reserves right to change/modify selection criteria if necessary
  • Waiting list (State-wise) maintained for one year for unfilled positions
  • Selected candidates must register on NATS portal: https://nats.education.gov.in and submit applications with documents

  2. Click on ‘Careers’ → Recruitment Process → Current Openings
  3. Select “Engagement of Apprentices – Project 2025-26” and click “APPLY ONLINE”
  4. Choose “Click here for New Registration”
  5. Enter Name, Contact Details, and Email ID
  6. System generates Provisional Registration Number and Password (note it down carefully)
  7. Login with Registration Number and Password
  8. Fill all details carefully including 12th/Diploma percentage
  9. Upload scanned Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression, Handwritten Declaration
  10. Upload 12th/Diploma and Graduation mark sheets/certificates (PDF format, max 500KB)
  11. Preview application form and verify all details
  12. Click “COMPLETE REGISTRATION” after verifying all information
  13. Pay application fee online through Payment Gateway
  14. Take printout of e-receipt and application form for records

Important Notes & Warnings

  • This is apprenticeship training under Apprentices Act, 1961 – NOT employment in the Bank
  • No obligation on Bank to offer regular employment after training completion
  • Apprentice has NO right to claim employment based on apprenticeship training
  • Training does not cast any liability on Bank for providing job
  • Candidates will be relieved immediately after completion of apprenticeship period

Contract & Penalties

  • Must execute Contract of Apprenticeship before commencement
  • Withdrawing without valid reason: Refund entire training cost + stipend received
  • Bank failure in contract: Apprentice gets 3 months last drawn stipend as compensation
  • Apprentice failure in contract: Must pay training cost (3 months stipend equivalent) to Bank
